How to Set Up Andy's Context
Learn how to teach Andy about you, your audience, and your goals so it writes content that sounds like you.
Andy's Context tab is where you tell Andy who you are, who you write for, and what you are trying to achieve. The more context Andy has, the more accurately it writes in your voice and stays on-topic for your audience.
Why context matters
Without context, Andy writes generically. With context, it knows your role, your audience's concerns, and your goals — so drafts require less editing and are more likely to resonate with the people you are trying to reach.
How to fill in your context
Open the Context tab
Go to Andy from the left sidebar, then click the Context tab.
Fill in the About You section
The About You section contains four fields:
- Name — pre-filled from your Reepl profile. Edit here if you want Andy to use a different name or handle.
- Headline — pre-filled from your LinkedIn profile headline. Edit to reflect the version you want Andy to write from.
- What you do — a short description of your role, focus area, or area of expertise. Write this in plain language, not a job description. For example: "I help B2B SaaS founders build a personal brand that generates inbound pipeline."
- Your audience — describe who reads your content. Be specific: their role, industry, challenges, and what they care about. For example: "Founders and heads of marketing at early-stage B2B SaaS companies, primarily in the US and UK."
Select your goals
Under Goals, select all that apply from the multi-select list:
- Personal brand
- Generate leads
- Hire talent
- Share knowledge
- Build community
- Drive sales
- Thought leadership
- Network growth
Your selected goals help Andy prioritize the type of content it drafts. A "Generate leads" goal produces more conversion-oriented posts than a "Share knowledge" goal, for example.
Add your topics
Under Topics, add the subjects you want Andy to write about. These work as content guardrails — Andy stays within your topic list rather than drifting into unrelated areas.
To add a topic: type the topic in the input field and press Enter or click Add. Repeat for each topic. To remove a topic, click the remove button next to it.
Examples of useful topics: "founder storytelling", "SaaS pricing", "hiring remotely", "B2B demand generation", "product-led growth".
Save your context
Click Save context. A success toast appears confirming your context has been saved.
Tips for better output
- Be specific in "What you do" and "Your audience." Vague descriptions produce vague posts. The more precise you are, the less editing Andy's drafts will need.
- Keep your topics focused. A list of 5-10 tight topics produces more coherent content than a list of 30 broad ones.
- Revisit your context periodically. If your focus or audience shifts, update your context so Andy stays aligned.
- Goals are cumulative. You can select multiple goals, and Andy balances them. If you want one goal to dominate, mention it explicitly in your "What you do" field.
