How to Create Custom Prompts
Learn how to create and manage custom prompts for AI-generated comments and messages in Reepl
Custom prompts let you define exactly how Reepl's AI generates comments and messages. You can create prompts with specific tones, instructions, or response patterns that match your communication style.
Open the Prompt Library
Navigate to Settings > Prompt Library or go directly to /settings/prompt-library.
Select the prompt type
Switch to the Comments or Messages tab depending on what type of prompt you want to create.
For message prompts, select a Messaging Group first. The Add Prompt button is disabled until a group is selected.
Create a new prompt
Click Add Prompt. Fill in the following fields in the dialog:
- Emoji -- Choose an icon to visually identify the prompt
- Title -- Enter a short name for the prompt (this appears as the slug/label)
- Prompt -- Write the instructions the AI should follow when generating content
- Enabled -- Toggle on to make the prompt immediately available
Click Save to add the prompt to your library.
Test the prompt
Open LinkedIn with the Reepl Chrome extension active. When generating a comment or message, your new prompt appears in the tone/voice selector. Select it and generate content to verify the output matches your expectations.
Your custom prompt now appears alongside the built-in prompts in both the Prompt Library and the Chrome extension.
Editing and deleting prompts
- Edit -- Click on any prompt to open the edit dialog. Update the emoji, title, prompt text, or enabled status, then save.
- Delete -- Click the delete option on a prompt and confirm removal. This action cannot be undone.
