How to Use Trending Signals in the Extension
Learn how to browse and act on trending signals directly from the Reepl Chrome extension sidebar
The Signals panel in the Reepl sidebar surfaces trending topics, content opportunities, and inspiration sourced from Reddit, YouTube, X, Google Trends, and RSS feeds. You can browse, filter, and turn any signal into a LinkedIn post without leaving the page you are on.
Before you start: You need the Reepl Chrome extension installed and a Reepl account. See Install Chrome Extension for setup instructions. Signals are populated by your profile configuration -- if you have not set up your Signal profile yet, see Set Up Your Signal Profile.
Browse signals from the Ideation tab
Open the Reepl sidebar
Click the Reepl icon on the right edge of any LinkedIn page to open the sidebar.
Go to the Ideation tab
Click Ideation in the bottom navigation bar. The Ideation view opens with two sub-tabs: Ideas and Signals.
Select the Signals sub-tab
Click Signals. The panel loads your most recent signals -- trending topics, opportunities, and content inspiration matched to your profile.
Filter the signal list
Use the three filter controls in the toolbar to narrow results:
- The first button (e.g. All, New, Saved) filters by status.
- The second button (e.g. All Types, Opportunity, Trending, Inspiration) filters by signal type.
- The third button (e.g. All Sources, Reddit, YouTube) filters by content source.
Each filter applies immediately. You can combine all three to narrow the list precisely.
Use a signal to write a post
Click any signal card. Reepl sends the signal summary to Andy (the AI chat assistant) with a prompt to help you write a LinkedIn post based on it. Andy opens automatically with your signal pre-loaded as context.
Your signal list updates based on your profile keywords and topic interests. New signals appear as they are detected across sources.
Signal types
Each signal card displays a badge indicating its type:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Opportunity | A gap, question, or trend in your niche you can speak to |
| Trending | A topic gaining traction across platforms right now |
| Inspiration | Content from others that could spark your own post ideas |
The source icon in the top-left corner of each card indicates where the signal originated: Reddit, YouTube, X, Google Trends, or an RSS feed.
The full Signals experience -- including saved signals, your Signal profile, and X Trends -- is available at app.reepl.io/signals. The extension panel shows the same signal feed in a compact view optimised for browsing while on LinkedIn.
