How to Use the Post Editor on LinkedIn

Learn how to write, schedule, and manage LinkedIn posts using the Reepl sidebar post editor

The Reepl sidebar includes a full post editor that lets you write, format, schedule, and manage LinkedIn posts without leaving the page. It supports rich text formatting, media attachments, AI rewriting, draft saving, and a content quality grader.

You need the Reepl Chrome extension installed and the Chat Widget Sidebar enabled. See Install Chrome Extension for setup instructions.

Open the post editor

Open the Reepl sidebar on any LinkedIn page, then select the Write tab at the top of the editor panel. The editor has four tabs:

  • Write -- Compose and publish new posts
  • Queue -- View and edit scheduled posts
  • Published -- Browse previously published posts
  • Approval -- Manage posts pending team approval

Write and format a post

Type your post content

Click in the text area and start writing. The editor uses Quill for rich text input and supports up to 3,000 characters. A circular progress indicator in the action bar tracks your character usage and turns red if you exceed the limit.

Format your text

Use the toolbar above the text area to apply formatting:

  • Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough
  • Bullet list, Numbered list
  • Undo / Redo

Add an emoji

Click the smile icon in the action bar to open the emoji picker. Select an emoji to insert it at your current cursor position.

Attach media

Click the attachment icon to attach images, videos, or PDF files. A badge on the icon shows how many files are attached. You can attach multiple files at once.

Use AI rewriting

Click the sparkles icon to open the AI actions menu. Select an action to rewrite your post content:

  • Fix grammar -- Correct spelling and grammar errors
  • Improve writing -- Enhance clarity and style
  • Redo hook -- Rewrite the opening line of your post
  • Condense -- Shorten the post while keeping the core message
  • Expand / elaborate -- Add more detail and substance
  • Improve structure -- Reorganize the content for better flow

After the AI generates a suggestion, a diff view highlights the changes. Click Accept (or press Enter) to apply, or Discard (or press Escape) to reject it.

Check content quality

Click the Content Grading button in the action bar to see a quality score for your post. The button displays a letter grade (A through F). Click it to open a detailed breakdown including overall virality score, readability, conciseness, and engagement.

More menu

The ... (more) button in the Write tab toolbar gives you five additional actions:

  • Copy Post -- copies the full post text to your clipboard.
  • Clear Formatting -- removes all bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and list formatting from the post.
  • Auto Format -- normalizes paragraph spacing by converting single line breaks to double line breaks, which produces better spacing on LinkedIn.
  • Reset Content -- clears the entire editor, including both the post body and the first comment field.
  • Add First Comment -- toggles the first comment field open or closed. A badge on the ... button indicates when a first comment is active.

First comment

You can attach a comment that posts automatically as the first comment immediately after your post publishes. This works for both immediate posts and scheduled posts.

To add a first comment, click the ... button in the toolbar and select Add First Comment. A text field appears below the main editor.

  • When you have typed a comment, the field shows the hint: This comment will post automatically after publishing.
  • When the field is open but empty, the hint reads: No comment will be posted. Type above to add one.

A badge on the ... button stays visible whenever the first comment field is open, so you can tell at a glance that a comment is attached. To close the field without posting a comment, select Add First Comment from the menu again to toggle it off.

Save as draft

Click the save icon in the action bar to save your current post as a draft. Drafts appear in the Drafts section below the editor on the Write tab. Click any draft to load it back into the editor.

The number of drafts you can save depends on your plan.

Publish or schedule

Publish immediately

Click Post Now to publish directly to LinkedIn. Reepl checks that your LinkedIn account is connected before posting. If it is not connected, a prompt appears to complete the connection.

Schedule for later

Click the dropdown arrow next to Post Now to open the schedule modal. Select a date and time, then confirm to add the post to your queue. Scheduled posts appear in the Queue tab.

Preview and Andy

The sidebar header contains two independent toggle buttons that expand the sidebar with additional panels:

  • Preview (eye icon) -- opens a LinkedIn-style preview panel to the left of the editor. Use the device selector at the top of the preview to switch between mobile, tablet, and desktop views.
  • Andy (co-pilot icon) -- opens the Andy AI assistant panel to the right of the editor.

Both panels can be open at the same time. When Andy is active the sidebar widens to 818 px to accommodate the AI assistant alongside the editor. By default the sidebar is 398 px wide. You can close either panel by clicking its toggle button again.

Manage scheduled and published posts

Switch to the Queue or Published tab to browse existing posts. Each post shows a content preview and the scheduled or published date. You can:

  • Click a post to load it into the editor for changes
  • Delete a post from the list
  • Use the search bar to filter by content
  • Sort by newest or oldest
  • Filter by time range (this week, next week, last 7 days, last 30 days)
