How to Generate DM and Comment Replies
Learn how to use the Reepl Chrome extension to generate AI-powered replies for LinkedIn comments and direct messages
The Reepl Chrome extension adds AI-powered reply buttons to LinkedIn comment boxes and direct message inputs. Generate contextual, on-brand responses with a single click, then edit and submit them to LinkedIn.
You need the Reepl Chrome extension installed and enabled. See Install Chrome Extension for setup instructions.
Locate the Reepl reply button
When you focus on a LinkedIn comment box or direct message input, a Reepl button appears next to the text field. The button is labeled Comment on comment boxes and Message on DM inputs.
Open the reply popup
Click the Reepl button to open the reply generation popup. The popup displays your available credits and configuration options.
Add personalization or choose a response type (optional)
By default, the popup shows a text field where you can type a custom prompt to guide the AI response. Toggle the switch to enter Quick Responses mode, which replaces the text field with a grid of pre-built prompt templates you can select instead.
Choose a word limit
Select one of the three length options:
- Minimal -- A brief, to-the-point response
- Concise -- A moderate-length response
- Detailed -- A longer, more thorough response
Generate the reply
Click Write Comment or Write Message to generate the response. The AI creates a reply based on the conversation context, your selected response type or custom prompt, and the chosen word limit.
Edit and submit
Review the generated text in the popup. Right-click for additional options: Redo Hook, Shorten, Expand, Copy, or Paste. Click Regenerate Comment or Regenerate Message to try a different version. When satisfied, the reply is inserted into the LinkedIn input field.
The generated reply appears in the LinkedIn comment or message box, ready for you to review and submit.
Free plan users are limited to 10 AI-generated comments and 10 AI-generated messages per day. Limits reset at midnight UTC.
