How to Generate Post Ideas in the Extension
Learn how to use the Ideas tab in the Reepl Chrome extension to generate AI-powered LinkedIn post ideas from your connected content sources
The Ideas tab generates LinkedIn post ideas based on your connected content sources — past posts, Notion pages, Google Docs, and more. Each idea can be sent directly to Co-Pilot to be turned into a ready-to-publish post.
Before you start: The Ideas tab requires a paid Reepl plan. Free users see an upgrade prompt in place of the idea list. Generating ideas costs 3 credits per idea.
Open the Ideation panel
Click the Post Ideas icon in the left navigation bar of the Reepl sidebar. The panel opens with two tabs: Ideas and Signals. You are on the Ideas tab by default.
Choose a content source
Click the All Sources dropdown in the toolbar to filter ideas by source. Available sources:
- All Sources — pulls from everything connected
- Notion — your Notion pages
- Google Docs — your Google Docs
- Airtable — your Airtable bases
- Google Sheets — your Google Sheets
- My Posts — your published LinkedIn posts
- Comments — comments you have received on LinkedIn
If you have not connected any external sources, select My Posts to generate ideas from your publishing history immediately. Connect additional sources at app.reepl.io.
Set a status filter (optional)
Click the All Ideas filter button to narrow the list:
- All Ideas — shows everything
- New — ideas you have not acted on yet
- Saved — ideas you have previously saved
Generate ideas
Click Generate in the top-right corner of the toolbar. A dropdown appears letting you choose how many ideas to generate: 5, 10, or 20.
Select a count. Each idea costs 3 credits, so generating 10 ideas costs 30 credits. The panel shows a "Generating..." status while the AI runs.
When complete, the new ideas appear at the top of the list as cards showing the idea text and a timestamp or source reference.
Use an idea
Click any idea card to send it to Co-Pilot. The sidebar switches to the Co-Pilot tab with a pre-filled prompt:
"Help me turn this idea into a LinkedIn post: [your idea]"
Co-Pilot responds with a full draft you can refine and publish.
After sending an idea to Co-Pilot, you can edit the draft, adjust the tone, or ask Co-Pilot to rewrite sections before copying the final post into LinkedIn.
