How to Use the Inbox
Learn how to read, reply to, and manage your X direct messages from Reepl's Inbox
The Inbox brings your X (Twitter) direct messages into Reepl so you can read conversations, send replies, and organize threads without opening X. It supports labels, snooze, archiving, and AI-assisted reply drafting.
Before you start: The Inbox requires a Premium plan or higher. You also need an X account connected with DM permissions. If X is connected but the Inbox shows a re-authorization prompt, follow the steps below to grant DM access.
Open the Inbox
Click Inbox in the left sidebar. Reepl checks whether your X account is connected with the required DM permissions.
If your X account is not yet connected, or if it was connected without DM access, you see a connect card. Continue to the next step.
Connect X with DM access
Click Connect X (or Re-authorize X if your account is already connected but missing DM permissions). A new tab opens to the X authorization page.
Approve the permissions requested, then return to Reepl. The Inbox loads your conversations automatically.
Browse your conversations
The left column lists your X conversations, newest first. Click any conversation to open the message thread in the main panel.
Use the filter tabs below the column header to narrow the list:
- All -- every conversation
- Unread -- conversations with messages you have not read
- Archived -- conversations you have archived
- Any custom label you have created appears as an additional tab
Read and reply to a message
Click a conversation in the left column to open it. The message thread appears in the center panel with the full history.
Click the reply input at the bottom of the thread, type your message, and press Enter or click Send to send it.
To go back to the conversation list on mobile, click the back arrow at the top left of the thread.
Generate an AI reply
In the reply input, type a short phrase or prompt describing what you want to say, then click the sparkle icon to expand it into a full message using AI. Review and edit the generated text before sending.
Archive a conversation
Click the archive icon in the thread header to archive the conversation. Archived conversations move to the Archived filter tab and are hidden from All.
Click the archive icon again (or use the Unarchive option) to restore the conversation.
You can also press E on your keyboard while a conversation is focused to archive it without opening the thread.
Snooze a conversation
Click the clock icon in the thread header to open the snooze picker. Select a date and time to snooze the conversation until. The conversation disappears from the main list until the snooze expires, then returns automatically.
To remove a snooze early, open the conversation and click the clock icon again, then select Remove snooze.
Add labels to a conversation
Click the tag icon in the thread header to open the label picker. Select an existing label or type a new label name to create it. Labels appear as filter tabs in the conversation list so you can group related conversations.
To remove a label, open the label picker and click the label again to deselect it.
View contact info
Click the panel icon (sidebar icon) in the thread header to open the contact info panel on the right. It shows the participant's name, X handle, current labels, and whether the conversation is archived or snoozed.
Click View on X to open the participant's X profile in a new tab.
Refresh your conversations
Click the three-dot menu at the top of the conversation list and select Refresh. The counter shows how many refreshes you have remaining today (up to 5). The time of the last sync appears below the refresh option.
After organizing conversations with labels and snooze, you can use the filter tabs to focus on specific groups. Archived conversations stay available under the Archived tab in case you need to reference them later.
The Inbox currently supports X direct messages. Conversations sync when you open the Inbox or manually refresh. Very new DMs may take up to a few minutes to appear after a refresh.
