Find and Engage Your Ideal Audience
Use ICP matching and the extension sidebar to identify, analyze, and engage with your target audience on LinkedIn
Growing on LinkedIn requires engaging with the right people, not just more people. This guide shows you how to use Reepl's ICP matching and extension tools to find your ideal audience and build meaningful connections through targeted engagement.
You need the Reepl Chrome extension installed and logged in. Configure your ICP criteria before starting -- see ICP Matching for setup instructions.
Set up your ICP criteria
If you have not already, configure your Ideal Customer Profile in the extension. Go to the ICP settings and define:
- Target job titles and seniority levels
- Industries and company sizes
- Geographic regions
- Any custom criteria specific to your business
The extension uses these criteria to score every LinkedIn profile you visit, showing you how closely each person matches your target audience.
Browse LinkedIn with ICP scoring active
With the extension active, browse LinkedIn as you normally would -- your feed, search results, post comments, and group discussions. The Reepl sidebar shows an ICP match score for each profile you view.
Focus your attention on profiles with high match scores. These are the people most likely to benefit from your content and offerings.
Analyze target profiles
When you find a high-match profile, use the Profile Analysis feature in the extension sidebar. This gives you:
- A summary of the person's professional background
- Their recent LinkedIn activity and posting frequency
- Topics they engage with most
- Mutual connections you share
Use these insights to understand what matters to them before you engage.
Engage with their content
Find posts from your target audience members and engage meaningfully:
- Open a post from a high-ICP-match profile
- Use the DM & Comment Replies feature to craft a thoughtful comment
- The AI suggests comments based on the post content and your voice profile
- Edit the suggestion to add your personal perspective, then post
Quality comments that add value get noticed. Avoid generic responses like "Great post" -- instead, share a specific insight, ask a thoughtful question, or offer a relevant experience.
Save and organize key contacts
As you engage with people who respond positively, save them to your CRM. Click Save to CRM in the extension sidebar and add them to a relevant List such as "Active Connections" or "Engagement Targets."
Use Collections to group contacts by shared characteristics (same industry, same event, similar interests) for targeted future engagement.
Build a daily engagement routine
Consistency matters more than volume. Establish a daily routine:
- Spend 15-20 minutes browsing LinkedIn with the extension active
- Comment on 5-10 posts from high-ICP-match profiles
- Save 2-3 new contacts to your CRM
- Check your Streaks to maintain your engagement momentum
The extension tracks your engagement activity, helping you stay consistent and see your progress over time.
Over time, this targeted engagement approach builds recognition and trust within your ideal audience. People you engage with regularly are more likely to follow you, comment on your posts, and respond to direct outreach.
