Use Prospect Finder and the extension sidebar to identify and engage with your target audience on LinkedIn
Growing on LinkedIn requires engaging with the right people, not just more people. This guide shows you how to use Reepl's Prospect Finder and extension tools to find your ideal audience and build meaningful connections through targeted engagement.
You need the Reepl Chrome extension installed and logged in.
Find your target audience with Prospect Finder
Open the Prospect Finder tab in the Reepl sidebar while on LinkedIn.
Use Simple mode to describe your audience in plain English (e.g., "Marketing Directors at SaaS companies in Europe"), or switch to Advanced mode to filter by:
- Job titles and seniority levels
- Industries and company sizes
- Geographic regions
- Degree of connection (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)
Click Search Prospects to see matching profiles.
Review and select high-priority profiles
Browse the results and identify profiles worth engaging with. Look for:
- Titles and industries that closely match your target
- Recent posting activity (active creators are easier to engage with)
- Shared connections that could warm up an introduction
Click through to their LinkedIn profile directly to review their content before engaging.
Engage with their content
Find posts from your target audience members and engage meaningfully:
- Open a post from a profile you want to connect with
- Use the DM & Comment Replies feature to generate a thoughtful comment
- The AI suggests comments based on the post content and your voice profile
- Edit the suggestion to add your perspective, then post
Quality comments that add value get noticed. Avoid generic responses -- share a specific insight, ask a thoughtful question, or offer a relevant experience.
Send connection requests and follow up
After engaging with someone's content, send a connection request with a brief personal note referencing what you engaged with. This significantly increases acceptance rates over cold requests.
For prospects who accept, follow up with a direct message using DM & Comment Replies to continue the conversation.
Build a daily engagement routine
Consistency matters more than volume. Establish a daily routine:
- Spend 15-20 minutes browsing LinkedIn with the extension active
- Comment on 5-10 posts from profiles matching your target audience
- Connect with 2-3 new people each session
- Check your Streaks to maintain engagement momentum
Over time, this targeted engagement approach builds recognition and trust within your ideal audience. People you engage with regularly are more likely to follow you, comment on your posts, and respond to direct outreach.
