How to Publish a Video Tweet
Learn how to attach, schedule, and publish a video tweet from Reepl with status tracking while X processes the upload
Reepl lets you attach a video to a tweet, schedule it, and publish it without leaving the app. Because X processes uploaded video asynchronously, Reepl tracks the upload state for you and flips the post to "Published" once X is done.
Before you start: You need a connected Twitter/X account. See Connect Your Twitter/X Account. X allows one video per tweet (no mixing video and images in the same post).
Open the Content Creator
From the left sidebar, click Content Creator.
Switch to Twitter / X
Use the platform selector at the top of the composer to switch to Twitter / X.
Write your tweet text
Type the caption that will appear above the video. The character counter follows X's 280-character limit.
Attach your video
Click the media button in the composer toolbar and select a video file from your computer. Once it uploads, you'll see a video thumbnail in the composer with a remove (×) control.
Preview the tweet
The live preview panel on the right shows the tweet with the video thumbnail, exactly as it will look on X.
Publish or schedule
- Click Post to publish immediately.
- Click Schedule to pick a future date and time.
What success looks like
After you click Post, the tweet appears in your Published tab with a Publishing status badge while X processes the video on its side. This usually takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes depending on the video length. Once X confirms the video is ready, the badge automatically updates to Published and the tweet goes live on your timeline.
If you scheduled the tweet, it sits in the Scheduled tab until its publish time, then follows the same Publishing → Published flow.
Tips
- Keep it under X's limits. X accepts videos up to 2:20 in length and 512 MB for standard accounts (longer for X Premium). Reepl will surface an error from X if the file is rejected.
- Use MP4 with H.264. This is the most reliable format. Other formats may work but H.264 MP4 is what X recommends.
- Don't refresh during Publishing. The status updates automatically. You can navigate away and come back.
