How to Configure Content Permissions
Learn how to set up content approval workflows and manage publishing permissions in Reepl
Content permissions control who can publish directly and who needs approval. When approval workflows are enabled, team members with the Member role must submit posts for review before they go live. Owners and admins can approve, reject, or request changes.
Content approval requires a Team or Agency plan. Only workspace owners and admins can configure permission settings.
Enable content approval
Open workspace settings
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then select General under the Workspace section. Navigate to the Settings tab.
Turn on approval requirements
Toggle the Approvals setting to require content approval for members. Once enabled, members see a Submit for Approval button instead of Post Now when creating content.
How the approval workflow works
Member submits a post
A team member creates a post and clicks Submit for Approval. The post status changes to Pending Approval.
Reviewer evaluates the post
Owners and admins open the Approval tab in the content creator to see all pending posts. For each post, the reviewer can:
- Approve -- Moves the post to its scheduled time or publishes it immediately
- Request Changes -- Returns the post to the submitter with a comment explaining what to fix. The status changes to Changes Requested.
- Reject -- Declines the post. The status changes to Rejected.
Member resubmits (if changes requested)
The original submitter edits the post based on the reviewer's feedback and clicks Resubmit. The post returns to Pending Approval status for another review.
Review comments are stored with each post, including who reviewed it and when.
When approval is required
Approval is required when all of these conditions are met:
- The user has the Member role (not Owner or Admin)
- The workspace has approval settings enabled
- The user is posting on behalf of another account
Owners and admins can always publish directly, regardless of approval settings.
