Write and Publish Your First LinkedIn Post

Go from a blank page to a published LinkedIn post using Reepl's content creator and AI writing assistant

This guide takes you from opening the content creator to seeing your first post live on LinkedIn. Whether you write manually or use AI assistance, the process takes just a few minutes.

Before you start, make sure you have a connected LinkedIn account. Go to Settings > Connected Accounts to link your profile if you have not already.

Open the content creator

Click Content Creator in the left sidebar of the web app. You land on the Compose screen with several content source options.

Choose how to start

Select a source card based on how you want to create your post:

  • Write with AI -- Get AI suggestions while you draft your post
  • From Articles -- Paste a URL and turn an article into a LinkedIn post
  • From YouTube -- Convert a YouTube video into post content
  • From Uploads -- Generate a post from a PDF or document

If you want to write entirely on your own, select Write with AI and simply type in the editor without using the AI suggestions.

Draft your content

Write your post in the editor. A few things to keep in mind:

  • LinkedIn posts have a 3,000-character limit
  • Use line breaks to improve readability -- short paragraphs perform well on LinkedIn
  • The first two lines are what people see before clicking "see more," so make them count

If you selected AI assistance, the AI Writing Assistant suggests completions and rephrases as you type. You can accept, modify, or ignore any suggestion.

Format your post

Use the formatting toolbar to add structure:

  • Bold and italic text for emphasis
  • Bullet points and numbered lists for scannable content
  • The Post Formatter for Unicode formatting, special characters, and spacing

Preview across devices

Click the Preview tab to see exactly how your post appears on LinkedIn. Switch between Mobile, Tablet, and Desktop views to ensure it looks good on every screen size.

Choose a publishing option

At the bottom of the editor, select your preferred action:

  • Post Now -- Publish to LinkedIn immediately
  • Schedule Manually -- Pick a specific date and time (up to 90 days out)
  • Add to Queue -- Place it in your scheduling queue at the next available slot
  • Save as Draft -- Save your work and come back to it later in Drafts

Verify your published post

If you chose Post Now, your post goes live within seconds. Check the Published Posts section on your dashboard to confirm it is live. Click the post to view it directly on LinkedIn.

You have published your first LinkedIn post with Reepl. From here, you can track its performance in Analytics, or continue creating content using templates and AI tools.
