How to Analyze a LinkedIn Profile
Learn how to use Reepl's Profile Analyzer to get an AI-powered breakdown of any LinkedIn profile's strengths, weaknesses, and improvement suggestions
The Profile Analyzer scores any LinkedIn profile across five categories -- Personal Branding, Experience, Skills, Education, and Completeness -- and returns a prioritized list of actionable improvements. Use it on your own profile or any publicly visible profile you want to study.
Before you start: The Profile Analyzer requires the Reepl Chrome extension to be installed and active. It also requires a Reepl Pro plan or above. If you do not have the extension, the tool will walk you through installation before you can proceed.
Open the Profile Analyzer
Navigate to Creation Tools in the left sidebar, then select Profile Analyzer. You can also go directly to app.reepl.io/creation-tools/profile-analyzer.
If the Reepl Chrome extension is not detected, the page shows a three-step installation guide:
- Click Install Extension to open the extension download page.
- Open the LinkedIn profile you want to analyze in a new tab.
- Come back, paste the URL, and run the analysis.
Open the LinkedIn profile you want to analyze
In a separate tab, navigate to the LinkedIn profile you want to analyze. The profile must be publicly visible. Copy the full URL from your browser's address bar (for example, https://www.linkedin.com/in/username).
Paste the profile URL
Return to the Profile Analyzer tab and paste the LinkedIn profile URL into the Enter LinkedIn profile URL field.
Select a language
Open the language dropdown and select the language you want the analysis to be written in. The default is English (United States). Multiple languages are available including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, and Japanese.
Run the analysis
Click the Analyze button. The tool goes through several processing stages -- fetching profile data, evaluating profile strength, identifying improvements, generating insights, and finalizing the report. This typically takes 20-40 seconds.
View your full analysis
Once complete, the tool displays a redirect card confirming your analysis is ready. Click Unlock Full Analysis (100% Free) to open the detailed results page.
Your full analysis opens in a new page showing your Overall Score out of 100, a score breakdown by category, a What's working section, a Fix these first section with high-priority quick wins, and an All recommendations section filterable by High, Medium, and Low priority.
Understanding the results
The analysis report includes:
- Overall Score -- A 0-100 rating with a bar chart and radar view showing how you perform across each category.
- What's working -- Your demonstrated strengths, primary focus area, and recognized skills.
- Fix these first -- High-priority issues with estimated time to fix (shown in minutes).
- All recommendations -- The full list of suggestions, filterable by priority level.
You can share your analysis results using the Share button, which generates a public link anyone can view without a Reepl account.
The analysis reads only publicly visible information from the LinkedIn profile. No private messages, connection lists, or non-public data are accessed. By running an analysis, you consent to this profile data being sent to Reepl's servers and processed by third-party AI models.
