How to Create a LinkedIn Carousel

Learn how to generate, customize, and publish multi-slide LinkedIn carousels using Reepl's Carousel Generator

The Carousel Generator lets you build multi-slide LinkedIn carousels using AI or manually. You can generate slides from a prompt, YouTube video, article, or PDF -- then customize the design and publish directly to LinkedIn.

Before you start: The Carousel Generator requires a Pro plan or higher. Free users can open the editor but exports include a Reepl watermark.

From the left sidebar, click Creation Tools, then select Carousel Generator. On your first visit, Reepl seeds three example carousels -- Discover Reepl, Tips List, and Story Arc -- so you have working references to start from.

Click New Carousel (or the + button). A dialog appears prompting you to choose a template pack or start blank.

Click Generate Carousel in the editor toolbar. A panel opens with four input options:

Select the input type that matches your source material:

  • Topics -- Describe your carousel topic in free-form text (minimum 10 characters). The AI generates slide content based on your description.
  • YouTube -- Paste a YouTube video URL. The AI extracts the transcript and turns it into slides.
  • Article -- Paste an article URL. The AI extracts the text and condenses it into slides.
  • PDF -- Paste a PDF URL. The AI extracts the document content and structures it as slides.

Set your slide count

Use the slider to choose between 5 and 20 slides, or select Auto to let the AI decide based on the content length.

Generate

Click Generate. The AI builds your slides and loads them into the editor. You can edit any slide after generation.

To revert all AI-generated content at once, click Undo Co-Pilot in the top bar immediately after generation.

From the left sidebar, click Creation Tools, then select Carousel Generator.

Click New Carousel (or the + button). Choose a template pack from the dialog, or select Blank to start with an empty slide.

Add your first slide

The editor opens with one slide. Click the slide canvas to select it, then use the Content panel on the right to enter your title and body text.

Add more slides

Click the + button in the slide tray at the bottom of the canvas to add a new slide after the current one. Repeat until you have all the slides you need.

Choose a layout for each slide

With a slide selected, open the Content panel and choose a layout from the Slide Layout dropdown. See Slide layout types below for the full list.

Using template packs

Template packs are pre-configured bundles that set the slide layout sequence, color theme, fonts, background effects, and AI generation style for your carousel. Applying a pack re-skins your existing slides -- your text content stays; only the styling updates.

Examples of available template packs:

  • Bold Left -- Designed for personal POV posts. Uses a cover slide, default slides, and a closing cover.
  • Center Stage -- Designed for results and case studies. Uses a cover slide, stat slides, and a closing cover.

To switch a template pack after starting, open the Theme panel and select a different pack. Your slide content is preserved.

Editing slides

Slide layout types

Each slide can use one of eight layout types. Select a slide, open the Content panel, and choose from the Slide Layout dropdown:

LayoutBest for
DefaultStandard content slides with title and body
CoverOpening and closing slides
QuoteHighlighting a single quote or pull quote
StatShowcasing a single number or metric
ListicleBullet-style lists (up to 6 items)
ChecklistStep-by-step checklists (up to 5 steps)
TimelineSequential events or process flows
TweetSocial-post-style text blocks

Managing slides

Use the slide tray at the bottom of the canvas:

  • Add a slide -- Click the + button to insert a new slide after the current one.
  • Reorder slides -- Drag any slide thumbnail to a new position in the tray.
  • Delete a slide -- Click the delete icon on a slide thumbnail to remove it.
  • Switch slides -- Click any thumbnail to make it the active slide.

Editing slide content

With a slide selected, the Content panel on the right shows editable fields:

  • Eyebrow -- A short label above the title. Optional; choose plain text, chip style, or quote style.
  • Slide Title -- The main heading.
  • Content -- Body text. Toggle between paragraph, bullet list, and numbered list using the format buttons.
  • Slide Layout -- The visual structure of the slide (see above).

Open the User tab to control whether your name, role, and profile photo appear on the slide. Toggle Show user details per slide, or use Apply to All to apply the setting across the entire carousel.

Open the Theme panel on the right to control the visual design.

Themes

Reepl includes 62 modern color themes organized by hue (Red, Rose, Orange, Amber, Lime, Emerald, Teal, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Slate, Stone) with four variants each: Light, Dark, Pastel, and Monochromatic. A set of 36 legacy themes is also available for backward compatibility.

Click any theme swatch to apply it to all slides instantly.

Font pairs

Choose from 63+ curated font combinations across 10 style categories. The font pair applies to all slide titles and body text.

Background effects

Select a background effect -- dots, circles, blobs, gradients, patterns, and more -- to apply a consistent visual texture across all slides.

Graphic elements

Add decorative elements to individual slides using the graphic elements controls in the editor.

Canvas format

Switch the canvas aspect ratio to match your target platform:

PlatformFormats
LinkedIn4:5 (recommended), 1:1
Instagram3:4, 1:1, Story (9:16)
Threads3:4, 1:1

The 4:5 format is recommended for LinkedIn -- it occupies the most vertical space in the feed.

Brand kit

If you have a brand kit configured in your account, click Apply Brand Kit in the Theme panel to apply your saved colors and fonts to the carousel in one click.

You can also save the current carousel's styling as a brand kit for reuse across future carousels.

Use the instruction bar above the canvas to add custom direction for AI generation on this specific carousel. These instructions guide the tone, structure, and writing style when you run Generate Carousel or use Co-Pilot on this carousel.

When your carousel is ready, click the calendar icon in the top bar. A dialog appears with two publishing options:

Schedule as PDF is recommended. LinkedIn renders PDFs as native swipeable documents, which typically receive higher reach than image carousels. There is also no slide limit when publishing as PDF.

  • Schedule as PDF -- Uploads all slides as a single PDF file. LinkedIn displays it as a swipeable carousel document.
  • Schedule as Images -- Uploads each slide as an individual image in LinkedIn's native image carousel format.

After selecting an option, Reepl opens the content editor where you can write a caption and choose a publish date and time.

Downloading

To export slides without publishing, click Download in the top bar. Reepl downloads all slides as individual PNG or JPG image files.

Drafts

Reepl auto-saves your carousel as you edit. To access your saved drafts, open the My Carousels panel on the left. Click any draft to load it.

Andy integration

In Andy (the AI ghostwriter), click the Create a carousel suggestion chip or ask Andy to create a carousel. This opens the carousel generation flow directly from the chat interface.

MCP integration

If you use Claude or another MCP-compatible AI assistant, you can generate carousels using natural language. For example: "Create a 10-slide carousel about remote work tips." The MCP integration connects your AI assistant directly to the Carousel Generator.
